we're definitely on the same footing here. im conducting a study on computer games, and one of the things that educators have to accept about the digital world students are exposed outside the classroom is that "it is here to stay." teachers complain about students' inattentiveness or lack of motivation to learn; probably they are used to how fast the internet or online gaming provide them with information or feedback. we, teachers have to shift our paradigms to cater to the changing cognitive needs of our students--and these are the individuals who spend many hours in front computers!

But not all are net savvy. And definitely most of the public schools in the Philippines have no net access that students can use, let alone a computer. So these schools (or at the very least, the teachers) are still in need of quality materials.

A determined net saavy child, probably HS or college, can easily get a LOT of information from the internet. Even e-textbooks, both freeware and the other kind can be found online if you know where to look.

Of course you'll need a laptop or a PDA phone to be able to read e books
